What to bring — by errand
Straight from the Missouri Department of Revenue's requirements. Bring these and you make one trip, not two.
Renewing license plates
- Renewal notice (or Form 184 if you didn't get one)
- Paid personal property tax receipt — or statement of non-assessment
- Current proof of insurance
Titling a vehicle you bought
- Signed title (or Manufacturer's Statement of Origin)
- Application for Missouri Title (Form 108), signed
- Safety inspection — within 60 days (90 if from a Missouri dealer)
- Paid personal property tax receipt and proof of insurance
- Payment for state/local sales tax due at titling
REAL ID (new or renewal)
- One identity document — passport or certified birth certificate
- One lawful-status document (usually the same document)
- One document with your full SSN
- Two Missouri residency documents from different sources
- Certified name-change documents, if your name has changed
Processing fees — published, no surprises
License offices charge a state-set processing fee (RSMo 136.055) on top of the state's own title, registration, and tax amounts:
